Notice is hereby given that an election shall be held on April 7, 2026 to fill the vacancy which will occur in the position of director for Sub Districts No. 2 of Public Water Supply District No. 5 of Cape Girardeau County.  Such director shall be elected to fill a three-year term commencing June 2026. Candidates must declare their candidacy at the office of the said district, which is located in the offices of Foeste Masonry, 347 County Road  649, in rural Cape Girardeau County.  Candidates must have resided within their sub district for one year next previous to their election, be 25 years of age, a voter, and current in the payment of all taxes. Any individual interested in declaring candidacy for open positions must file between 8:00 am on December 9, 2025 and prior to 5:00 pm December 30, 2025 at the district office.
